OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS
The Home Stage season opens with the hit Broadway comedy, OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS by Joe DiPietro (author of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change). Nick spends every Sunday afternoon with his two sets of Italian-immigrant grandparents in Hoboken...until he's offered a major job promotion which would move him to Washington state. The grandparents' plot to keep him on the East Coast proves to be embarrassing and exasperating for Nick, and hilarious for the audience. An uproarious comedy which celebrates families and what they give to us, whether nearby or far away. Rated G for all audiences.

I HAVE BEFORE ME A REMARKABLE DOCUMENT GIVEN
TO ME BY A YOUNG LADY FROM RWANDA
all for One's alternative theatre piece to beat the mid-winter blahs is the provocative and timely two-character drama, I HAVE BEFORE ME A REMARKABLE DOCUMENT GIVEN TO ME BY A YOUNG LADY FROM RWANDA, by Sonja Linden. This surprisingly funny meeting of two cultures introduces us to Juliette, a young Rwandan refugee living in London, and Simon, a middle-aged struggling novelist assigned to help her with her English writing skills. As he encourages her to write her personal story, and she resists, we are drawn into the reality of tragedy and triumph for all those who have lived in war-torn countries. Rated PG-13 for subject matter.

April 24-26, May 1-3, 2009

RADIUM GIRLS
all for One closes its season with an exciting new period drama by D.W. Gregory. Set in the 1920s, RADIUM GIRLS tells the story of the painters of luminous dials (paint made with radium dust) and the dreadful deaths suffered by many of them before the dangers of radiation were discovered. A lively comedy-drama in which 10 actors and actresses portray 30 roles, RADIUM GIRLS explores the moral and ethical obligations of scientists, doctors, employers and the media. As Grace fights her way through the complex and resistant legal system to force the industry to accept its share of responsibility, we are forced to ask hard questions about how we each view the employee/employer relationship. Rated PG for subject matter.

The Young Playwrights Festival (YPF) is an annual competition open to any K-12 student in the Greater Fort Wayne area.

Students' plays may vary in length from one to 15 pages and will be judged by area professionals. The top 26 playwrights (two per grade) will each receive $50-$100 in new books. The top 13 plays (one per grade) will be produced and staged by local professionals at the Young Playwrights Gala each Spring. All 26 winning plays will be published in book form.

The YPF is modeled after the Marilyn Bianchi Kids' Playwrighting Festival, the nation's longest running playwrighting competition for children.

The YPF is fully underwritten by Dr. David A. Smith, Great Lakes Pediatric Surgeons, Inc., Fort Wayne, In.
